New mountain bike trails in Yellagonga Regional Park

The State Government is investing $8.5 million to preserve and enhance Yellagonga Regional Park, which is in the City of Joondalup.

Works will include the construction of 7km of cross-country mountain bike trails and supporting infrastructure including a carpark and toilets. A new boardwalk, in the section of park between Ocean Reef Road and Whitfords Ave, and a nature playground adjacent to Luisini Winery will be constructed. Some existing trails will be sealed, or limestone material added.

Interpretive signage around Lake Goollelal and throughout the park will further enhance the precinct. Additional planting around the lake will help to improve water quality and a viewing platform and boardwalk will be constructed on the Wanneroo side to provide access to Lake Joondalup.

Further funding to increase rehabilitation works through the Friends of Yellagonga Regional Park will be provided to ensure the ongoing protection and restoration of the park.

Planning and design of works are underway with the construction of the mountain bike trails and supporting infrastructure to commence in the 2022/23 financial year and other projects commencing the following year.

More details will be provided soon along with further updates as the various projects progress.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the Traditional Owners of the land through which these trails pass.
