Here are some places to stay, spots to eat, and things to see and do in and around Collie these holidays with options to keep the whole family happy.

It’s surprising how much there is to do in Collie! There is something for everyone from outdoor adventures to relaxing pastimes soaking up the sun, retail therapy to visiting the historical and cultural attractions.

Mountain Biking Adventures
Collie is the hub for all things mountain biking, with heaps of trails in and around Collie there are endless hours of fun to be had with the whole family. Just pop down to the visitor centre or visit the Trails WA website to find out more, then it’s up to you to figure out which trail to pick first!

Getting out in nature
Collie is known for its fantastic water destinations with numerous lakes, and rivers to swim in, fish or water ski on. Combine these destinations with Collie’s drive tours and make a day out of visiting the different watering holes whilst getting to see the beautiful country farmland.

Heritage and History
Collie has a range of museums, galleries and monuments celebrating it’s rich past. Download Collie’s Rail to River Heritage Trail Tour from the Wambenger Trails app and learn more about these historic sites as you walk around the town. Wellington National Park
From the moment you arrive your senses will come alive with the sight and smell of tall eucalypts. The park is covered by 17,000 hectares of ancient jarrah, marri and blackbutt forest. See the largest dam mural painting in the world at Wellington Dam and enjoy one of the parks many hiking and mountain bike trails or swimming spots, the perfect way to cool off after a day of outdoor exploration.

Overnight Adventures
Collie features several long distance walking, cycling and horse riding trails which include the Munda Biddi Trail and Bibbulmun Track. If you are after a relaxing, relatively flat walk, cycle or horse ride through farmland then try the 61.5km Collie Darkan Rail Trail which follows the disused Collie-Narrogin railway. If you prefer something a little more adventurous with great views of Wellington Dam and the forest surrounding Collie then head out onto the 87km Wiilman Bilya Trail. There are shorter options that travel along the east and west side of the Dam to cater for a range of fitness levels and bushwalking experience.

Trail Tours
There are several self-guided tours the whole family can do around Collie which include the Collie Mural Trail and Rail to River Heritage Trail. Crank n’ Cycles
Collie’s local bike experts, but they don’t stop there, with an array of toys, games, and puzzles for sale as well. Crank n’ Cycles are open Monday to Saturday and are the perfect place to buy or hire a bike and any other accessories you might need to go along with it.

Traaverse
Let Simone at TraaVerse take care of you and your next adventure. Based in Collie and servicing the “BUNGEO” region in the Australia’s Southwest. Traaverse’s services include tours, kayak and SUP hire and transfers to any trails including the Munda Biddi Trail and Bibbulmun Track.

Kiosk at the Dam
Not only a great spot to stop and eat, but the Kiosk also offers bike hire which is just what you need to head out onto one of the many mountain bike trails around Wellington National Park. Make sure to book ahead to avoid missing out.

The Wagon
Conveniently located next to the children’s water playground in Central Park, The Wagon operates as the name suggests from a historic railway wagon set under the trees. Open for breakfast and lunch perfect for a refreshing hot or cold drink and a healthy treat.

Colliefields
Tasty and fresh, home-made baked goods, conserves and condiments. Don’t miss out on the famous sausage rolls and delicious pies.

Sizzles Deli
Located on the main road of town, you will find this little gem of a deli with the friendliest staff and a huge selection of takeaway foods. They are open for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Federal Hotel
The “Feddy”, as the locals call it, is only a 5 minute stroll from the Collie town centre. This heritage-style hotel offers great food and friendly service.
